The majority of people you will meet on the dance floor never had the pleasure of meeting my father, Scott Bieg. He passed in 2008 after living with Type 1 Diabetes since infancy. The dynamics he and my mother, Sonja, faced shaped my understanding of what it means to love through sickness and health. His mind was sharp, an artist, chemists, engineer, and jokester — he could laugh about anything even while dealing with terrible pain, could create the most beautiful things out of wood without any fingers, could debate anyone on any topic, which Olivia should be grateful to have avoided! If alive today he would rival Olivia for ‘smartest person in the room’. If physical gifts are not how you show love Olivia and I offer you the option to donate to the American Diabetes Association.
